Richest billionaires Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos  became  the world's richest person on October 27 as Amazon's shares jumped 13 percent, to close at $1,100.95. He was also briefly the richest person in the world when the markets opened on July 27, 2017, according to  Forbes .
